Hello! I am so excited to share my most used Amazon must-haves for teachers in 2021 that every teacher should have. I teach kindergarten, but I think that all of these items can be used for older grades as well.
Amazon Basic Laminator
When looking for a laminator I debated between a Scotch laminator and the Amazon Basics one, but settled on this one after getting a great deal on Prime Day. I have had this machine for a couple of years and have laminated hundreds of sheets of paper I am very happy with this product. The lamination sheets are thicker and more durable than the large lamination machine a school.
Scotch Thermal Laminating Pouches
The Scotch Thermal Laminating Pouches are perfect for laminating activities for students because they are thick and durable. The best part is, you can laminate the whole sheet of paper, then cut out the activity. There is no need to cut out the activity before laminating because the pouches don’t easily peel. They sell the pouches in packs of 100 or 200 sheets (I normally purchase a 200 pack for the school year with my yearly school allowance)
Dry Erase Pocket Sleeves
If you are looking for a quick, easy alternative to laminating activities, dry erase pocket sleeves are a great option. You can slide a full sheet of paper in and students can write and erase on the sleeve as they would a whiteboard. It is simple to change the paper in the sleeve.
Magnetic Roll Tape
This tape is wonderful to hang things around the classroom, especially if you have a magnetic whiteboard or door frames. The back is super sticky and I have no issues with it falling off of items. I have hung everything from a poster board to large pocket charts.
Book Bags
These bags are so nice to use for students book bags. Every week, I send home a book for students to read with their families. These bags help keep all of their materials together, are easy for kindergarteners to zip and help protect the book better than a ziplock. I’ve also used these bags to store center activities and games. They come in a variety of sizes.
Therapy Putty
Therapy putty is great for students who need a fidget or a sensory break. Each color is a different firmness, ranging from extra soft to firm. I like to mix beads with the putty for students to work on rolling the putty out and picking the beads out.
Pencil Sharpener

I’ve had this pencil sharpener for 2 years and it still works great! Since I teach kindergarten, so I sharpen pencils for my students which could help with the longevity of it. It quickly sharpens pencils and I’m able to sharpen all of our classroom pencils in a few minutes. The suction cups at the bottom keep it from sliding around. It holds quite a bit of pencil shavings, so it doesn’t need to be emptied too often.
Hot Glue Gun
I’ve tried everything to hang posters on the wall {tape, double sided tape, putty} and it never failed to fall off of the wall just as quickly as it was hung. A hot glue gun is perfect for hanging those items on the wall. You do need to be careful when you take items down to slowly pull them off to not chip the paint on the walls.
Pocket Chart Organizer
This pocket chart is nice to hang by the door for documents that need to be easily accessed. I keep my dismissal information and seating chart in this chart. I also have a pocket for anything that needs to be dropped off at the office or into other’s mailboxes. I also like to keep a class list in case of emergency. If we have a drill I can easily grab the list and do a roll call.
